Heritage Collection is at the heart of Birmingham’s rich innovative heritage dating back over 100 years. Established in Digbeth, in 1976, as Heritage Silverware Ltd, the company originally specialised in silver-plated items for the hospitality industry (items such as cutlery for restaurants, high-quality silver-plated afternoon tea items.) Over the years, Heritage has expanded to furnish top hotels and restaurants with a full tabletop offering. As well as our afternoon tea collection and holloware, we also offer cutlery, glassware, stoneware, china & porcelain, trolleys, and cast iron. We work closely with chefs and hospitality teams to tailor the perfect tableware to match a restaurant's ethos and aesthetic.
100 years ago, Birmingham was ‘the city’ for the manufacture of silver-plated items of the finest quality. George Richards Elkington patented the first commercial process of electroplating and by 1880 his company Elkington & Co had up to 1000 employees working in Birmingham. To this day Heritage Collection still uses this very process to silver plate its items. Many of our old dies and patterns date back to this period and still form part of the tools of our trade. Our determination in preserving the best of our own as well as Birmingham’s heritage has been carefully married with the incorporation of state of the art design tools, CNC machinery and other modern techniques, which we use to enhance our highly skilled traditional silversmith’s, hand spinners and hand turners.
Our brand has always been synonymous with the British manufacture of silverware and tableware for the top hotels and restaurants around the world. We are privileged to work with iconic luxury brands in the Leisure industry. The Ritz, The Dorchester, QE2, Intercontinental Hotels and many more prestigious hotels and restaurants are long-standing customers, a testament to the high-quality tableware products and expertise we provide.
